I thought what I would draw for this solo exhibition last winter.
Just then, I found a dead pigeon I was walking on the road.
I wanted to bury the headless body but couldn’t because I was in a hurry.
Being anxious about that I passed a day.
The corpse disappeared on the way back.
I still think about that from time to time, “who buried the pigeon?”, “why did he die?”, “how did he live?” etc.
Lately I often think of happiness.
Talking with people I love.
Being embraced by them.
Eating sweets.
Sleeping.
My motifs are always living things.
Only I can give “happiness” them.
By being loved, I can be kind to others.
People who love me are precious, and I want to be like that for them in my drawings.
I drew thinking of “trace of happiness” which is changing everyday.
