I represent Japanese girls’ ambivalent feelings, such as love and eros, freedom and secrets,

kawaii-ness and motherhood using colors and patterns in my paintings. Each color gives off an aura of feeling,

that is heightened and stimulated by patterns such as polka-dots, stripes, and hearts.

By placing posing females in silhouette along with objects of desire,

I would like to explore a boundary between the real and unreal.

My ultimate goal is to communicate with viewers by sharing my secrets and hidden feelings about love. – Asuka Ito
